Clinical Development Engineer at Cornerstone Robotics

Irena Wong began their professional career in 2017 as a Club Sports Supervisor for Purdue RecWell. In the same year, they also worked as a Student Research Assistant for the Purdue Polytechnic Institute's TECHFIT program. In 2018, they held two positions simultaneously, one as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Purdue Neurotrauma Group and another as a Research Intern for Novus Life Sciences Limited. In 2019, they continued their work with Novus Life Sciences Limited as a Research Intern and also began working as a Product Development and Research Intern for Menstrual Mates. In 2020, they worked as a Contract Remediation Engineer in Sustaining Engineering for Cook Medical and as a Research Technician at Robles Lab for Purdue University. Finally, in 2022, they began their current role as a Clinical Development Engineer for Cornerstone Robotics Limited, where they test prototypes with healthcare providers, develops user-centric questionnaires, and creates test protocols to evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical devices.

Irena Wong has a diverse educational background. Irena started their education in 2010 at St. Paul's Convent School, where they obtained their IGCSE degree in 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they attended Linden Hall and obtained their high school degree. In 2015, they attended Yale University's Summer Film Institute, where they studied Filmmaking. From 2016 to 2020, they attended Purdue University and obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. During their time at Purdue, they also spent a year as an exchange student at the University of Galway, where they studied Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Additionally, Irena has obtained several certifications, such as a GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices (U.S. FDA Focus) from the CITI Program in 2021, a Working With Zebrafish (Danio rerio) in Research Settings certification from the CITI Program in 2021, an Investigators, Staff and Students certification from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in 2021, a Lean Green Belt Certification from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers in 2020, and an Animal Biosafety certification from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in 2021.
