Amy L. Maddox

Media Designer, Founding Member at Cortina Productions

Amy is an award-winning producer with over 25 years of experience in designing and producing media experiences that engage, educate, and inspire. She is an expert at collaborating with the client and exhibition teams to transform complex curatorial content into fully realized films and interactive experiences. A central force at Cortina Productions, Amy guides the story team in developing media content that delivers accuracy in compelling and emotional ways. She has been an advocate for understanding the exhibition’s goals early in the project to ensure each one of Cortina Productions’ media experiences is designed to meet the client’s storytelling and technology needs. She understands the value of iteration, user testing, and universal design when creating location-based media experiences on time and on budget. Along with Joseph Cortina, Amy leads staff training and spearheads professional development.

Working with clients, including the new International African American Museum, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, and the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, Amy utilizes her expertise in expressing complex historical content to create educational and inspiring media exhibits. Maddox’s work has been honored with numerous American Alliance of Museum MUSE awards, CINE, Telly, and New York Film Festival awards.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Arts, Visual Media, from the American University School of Communications.
