Ryan Severson

Ryan Severson is an experienced legal professional currently serving as General Counsel at COTA since 2023. Prior to this role, Ryan worked as a Consultant Attorney at Axiom from 2021 to 2023. Ryan's legal career began at K&L Gates, where Ryan progressed from Summer Associate to Associate, and ultimately became a Partner from 2009 to 2020. Additional experience includes a position as a Legal Intern at the United States Senate in 2009 and as a Law Clerk at the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland in 2008. Ryan also gained academic experience as a Research Assistant under Professor Rena Steinzor at the University of Maryland School of Law in 2008. Ryan holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Rochester.
