Melissa H.

Melissa H. has extensive work experience in the mental health field. Melissa began their career in 2007 as a Chemical Dependency Counselor II at Volunteers of America-Alaska, where they provided counseling to adolescents with co-occurring disorders. Melissa then worked as a Student Intern at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, conducting clinical rotations and leading psychotherapy groups for veterans. Melissa continued their career as a Clinical Therapist at North Star Behavioral Health, where they provided individual therapy and led group psychotherapy sessions for diverse adolescents with mental health diagnoses. Melissa also served as a Clinical Therapist at Mental Health Partners, providing assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention to adults with various mental health disorders.

In 2015, Melissa joined Providence Health & Services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in evaluation, diagnosis, and intervention for psychiatric and substance use disorders. Melissa utilized various treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing. Melissa then held positions as a Director Of Assessment at Aurora Behavioral Health System - Tempe and as a Director Of Clinical Services at Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital.

In 2020, Melissa joined Intermountain Centers as a Clinical Director, overseeing clinical operations. Currently, they serve as the Chief Executive Officer at Cottonwood Tucson. Prior to their current role, Melissa was the Chief Operating Officer at Cottonwood Tucson.

Throughout their career, Melissa has demonstrated expertise in clinical therapy, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. Melissa has worked with individuals of all ages and a wide range of mental health disorders.

Melissa H. obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. After that, they pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Social work at Arizona State University from 2008 to 2010.
