Amanda L. Sargent

National Governance Coach Cohort at Council of the Great City Schools

Amanda L. Sargent, LMSW, serves as an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce, focusing on macro practice and community development for social work students. In their role as Director of Civic Partnerships and Strategies at Dallas College, Amanda leads initiatives to strengthen community and business connections. Amanda is also a member of the National Governance Coach Cohort with the Council of the Great City Schools, enhancing governance skills for school board leaders. Previous experiences include managing talent initiatives at INROADS, serving as a School Board Trustee and President at DeSoto Independent School District, and implementing college readiness programs at The University of Texas at Austin. Amanda holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Arts in African-American/Black Studies and Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
