Amy Kohnstamm

Amy Kohnstamm has extensive experience in educational governance and community relations, currently serving as a Board Member for the Council of the Great City Schools since July 2019, advocating for urban school children. Previously, Kohnstamm held various leadership positions within the Portland Public Schools Board, including Elected Board Vice Chair and Board Chair, and chaired several committees. As Co-Chair of the Portlanders for Safe and Healthy Schools Bond Campaign, Kohnstamm successfully led a $780 million initiative for school facility improvements. Earlier in their career, Kohnstamm worked as a Senior Community Relations Officer at Mercy Corps, managing partnerships with notable organizations, and served in project management roles at TriMet. Educational credentials include an Executive Education degree from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Anthropology and Political Science from Macalester College.
