Ann Norris is a seasoned expert in foreign policy and gender equality with extensive experience in various significant roles. Currently serving as a Senior Adjunct Fellow in the Women and Foreign Policy Program at the Council on Foreign Relations since May 2022, Ann previously worked as a consultant on gender equality for organizations including National Security Action and the Mayor's Office of the City of Los Angeles from June 2019 to March 2022. Other notable positions include Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Legislative Affairs at the Department of State and Senior Advisor/Counselor at the Secretary's Office of Global Women's Issues. Prior to these roles, Ann was the Senior Foreign Policy and Defense Advisor to Senator Barbara Boxer from 2005 until early 2014. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and American Literature & Culture from UCLA.
