Claire E Sterk

Claire E. Sterk has extensive experience in public health and academia, currently serving as President Emerita and Charles Howard Candler Professor of Public Health at Emory University since July 1995. Sterk has held various academic positions at Emory, including Executive Vice President/Provost and Senior Vice Provost. In addition to a distinguished academic career, Sterk is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, with membership in the Council on Foreign Relations. Sterk holds a Ph.D. in Medical and Health Sciences from Erasmus University Rotterdam and advanced degrees in Medical Anthropology from Utrecht University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
