Himanshu Raja

Himanshu Raja is the current Group Chief Financial Officer at Countrywide. Himanshu has held this position since June 2017. Prior to that, they were the Group CFO at Countrywide plc from 2013 to 2016.

Raja has extensive experience in finance and accounting. Himanshu began their career as an auditor with KPMG in India. Himanshu then moved to the United Kingdom and worked for G4S, where they were responsible for financial and operational reviews of the business.

In 2017, Raja was appointed as the Group CFO of Countrywide. Himanshu led a financial and operational review of the business that resulted in the turnaround strategy being put in place centered on a “back to basics” approach. The Group returned to profitable growth in 2019 and delivered strong EBITDA in 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. In Q1 2021, the Board agreed to a takeover by Connells, which preserved shareholder value, repaid lenders, and secured the future for 9,000 colleagues and other stakeholders.

Himanshu Raja attended the Strategic Leadership Programme at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in May 2017. Himanshu also attended ICAEW and received an LLB Hons in Law from the University of Wales, Cardiff.

Their manager is Paul Creffield, Group Managing Director. Himanshu Raja works with Peter Curran - Managing Director, Financial Services, Dan Thompson - Group HR Director, and Paul Chapman - Chief Operating Officer.
