Mkim Alfred M. Mwakio

Alfred M. Mwakio, MKIM has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Alfred M. began their career in 2012 as an Economist and AG Human Resource Manager at Geo Wave Ship Contractors LTD. In 2013, they worked as a Senior Economist Planning at Baba shipping services LTD. In 2014, they took on the role of Principal Economist at Sethmam Marine (K) LTD.

From 2014 to the present, Alfred has been employed at the County Government of Mombasa. Alfred M. started as an Executive Assistant in the Department of Transport and Infrastructure, followed by a role as a Personal Assistant in the Department of Youth, Gender, and Sports. Alfred M. then progressed to positions of increasing responsibility in the Department of Trade, Tourism, and Investment, serving as AG Asst. Director, Senior Economist, Principal Economist, and currently as the Chief Economist.

In 2017, Alfred also worked as the Embassy Honorary Consulate Manager for the Republic of Ukraine to Kenya at UA.consulate.ke, where they were responsible for coordinating partnerships and events between the embassy and the consulate, as well as ensuring the safety of Ukrainian tourists and residents.

Alfred M. Mwakio, MKIM, has a diverse education history that spans over several years. In 2004 to 2008, they attended Moi Forces Academy in Kenya and obtained their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. Following this, from 2008 to 2009, they enrolled at the Advanced Institute of Technology & Management in South Africa, where they earned the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Module certification.

In 2009 to 2010, Alfred pursued a Pre-University foundation course at Voronezh Institute of High Technologies. Alfred M. then attended Belgorod Shukhov State Technology University from 2010 to 2011, where they obtained a certificate in Russian Language and Literature. At the same institution, they also pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Management, which they completed in 2014.

Continuing their academic journey, Alfred joined Moi University in 2016 and graduated in 2021 with a Master's degree in Economics, specifically Masters of Arts in Economics.

In addition to their formal education, Alfred has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received a Certificate of President of Kenyan Students in RUSSIA, Belgorod from the Embassy of Kenya in Moscow. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate of Decent Work Labor Rights in East Africa Program from Africa Youth Trust. Lastly, in 2018, they obtained a certification in Result Based Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ministry of Finance - Department of Monitoring and Evaluation.
