The County of Lake provides a variety of services to Lake County residents and visitors, including public protection, health and sanitation, public assistance, libraries, agricultural assistance, parks, recreational and cultural activities, elections, planning, behavioral health services, and infrastructure. Many of the the County's services are provided Countywide, while others are provided only to the residents of the unincorporated areas.

The Community Services and Public Safety team at the County of Lake focuses on enhancing public safety and welfare through comprehensive programs and services. This multidisciplinary team, consisting of behavioral health clinicians, law enforcement officers, probation officials, and social workers, collaborates to address community needs, promote mental health, and ensure public safety, thereby fostering a secure and supportive environment for all residents.
