Programme Lead; Climate And Credit Model Strategy at Coutts

Chris Ambrose has a diverse work experience in the banking and risk management sector. Chris started their career in 2007 at RBS, where they served as a Credit Portfolio Manager, implementing risk management frameworks and policies. Chris also conducted macroeconomic and portfolio analysis to assess country risk and represented RBS in interactions with external stakeholders. In 2015, they joined Coutts and took on various roles such as Portfolio Manager, Director of Risk Appetite & Framework, and Executive Director of Banking & Lending Portfolio Management. In these positions, they provided oversight of business strategy, led credit modelling initiatives, and developed risk assessment frameworks. Currently, as Programme Lead for Climate and Credit Model Strategy at Coutts, they are responsible for developing and maintaining the bank's climate change strategy and driving automation of lending processes.

Chris Ambrose attended the University of Birmingham from 2001 to 2005, where they received a BA in English & American Studies with a 2.1 degree. In 2009, they completed the Financial Risk Manager Exam (FRM) Full exam through GARP (FRM). In 2020, they enrolled in the Sustainability Leadership Programme at the University of Cambridge, which they completed in 2021. In 2008, Chris obtained the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) parts I & II through the CFA Society of UK (IMC). Additionally, they hold a certification in FRM from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). From 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London.
