Mark Elliott has a diverse work experience, primarily in the legal sector. Mark started their career as a Trainee Solicitor at DLA Piper in 2001 before becoming an Associate Solicitor, where they advised major UK clearing banks on various banking and regulatory matters. Mark also had a secondment to the Barclays Capital Global Loans Legal team during this time. In 2005, Mark joined NatWest Group as a Legal Counsel for the Global Banking & Markets Division, advising on complex loan products. Mark later became the General Counsel for Restructuring, establishing the Restructuring Legal team in 2009. In 2015, Mark joined Coutts as the Head of Legal & Corporate Governance, where they oversaw legal, corporate governance, and company secretarial support for Coutts & Co and NatWest Wealth Businesses. Mark also actively participated in DE&I initiatives within NatWest Group.
Mark Elliott completed their education at various institutions. From 1990 to 1995, they attended The Burgess Hill Academy and obtained their GCSEs. Following that, from 1995 to 1997, they studied Politics, Economics, and English Literature at Haywards Heath College for their A Levels. Later, from 1997 to 2000, Mark pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at Aberystwyth University. Afterward, they completed the Legal Practice Course in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law at The University of Law from 2000 to 2001.
