Currie Crookston has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Currie started their career in the US Navy Seals, where they served as a Lieutenant Commander from 1988 to 1996. After that, they worked as an Associate at A.T. Kearney from 1998 to 1999.

Crookston then joined Bayer, where they served as a Business Unit Leader and played a pivotal role in transforming a money-losing unit into a $150 million enterprise. Currie also led the development of technology for Bayer's molecular imaging business.

In 2004, Crookston founded and served as the CEO of PetsDx, a veterinary healthcare company providing advanced diagnostic imaging services. Currie successfully implemented a new business model and achieved a successful exit.

Crookston co-founded Allegheny Development Partners in 2011 and played a key role in establishing the Aspinwall Riverfront Park. Currie helped with fundraising, property development, and the park's opening.

From 2015 to 2017, Crookston was a Partner and Co-founder of Riverfront 47, where they purchased riverfront property in Pittsburgh and developed it into a $1.2 billion mixed-use eco-district.

In 2017, Crookston joined Covestro as the Head of Innovation Management & Digital Services. Currie led machine learning efforts and received the Covestro Science award for outstanding R&D contributions. Currie also delivered a proof of concept for a digital business model in the 3D printing business that saved customers months of R&D efforts.

In 2021, Crookston became the Global Head of CE and Sustainability Ecosystems at Covestro, where they led a team in employing algorithmic optimization for formulation development, expected to reduce R&D efforts by more than 75%. Currie also orchestrated the deployment of machine learning models that condensed over a year's R&D efforts into two months.

Currie Crookston completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business from 1996 to 1998.
