Silvia Foppiano, Ph.D.

Silvia Foppiano, Ph.D. has a wide range of work experience beginning in 1996 when they were a Visiting Scholar at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In 2005, they became a Post Doctoral Fellow at UCSF in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. In 2008, they began teaching at Merritt College as an Adjunct Part-time Faculty in the Department of Biology and also became an Instructor at UC Berkeley Extension. That same year, they transitioned from academia and research to the private sector when they joined Technical Instruments as a Microscope & Imaging Specialist. From 2014 to 2022, they worked at Okolab as the North America Director of Sales and Business Development and is currently the Director of Sales, Healthcare at cPacket Networks, where their main focus is to bring their intelligent network observability solutions to the healthcare market.

Silvia Foppiano, Ph.D. obtained their MS in Chemistry and Metallurgy from Università degli Studi di Genova in 1996. Silvia then went on to pursue a PhD in Craniofacial Sciences -Division of Biomaterials and Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco, which they completed in 2004. In 2011, they took a Course in Project Management at UC Berkeley Extension. In 2019, they completed a Data Analytics program at General Assembly and obtained a Create A Brand Strategy certification from LinkedIn.
