Prarthana Borah has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of environmental sustainability and climate change. Prarthana is currently serving as the Director, India at CDP, where they lead the development and implementation of the India strategy, as well as drives the Asian cities disclosure strategy. In addition to their role at CDP, Prarthana has also worked as a Board Advisor at Aurassure and a Startup Mentor at Nexus, where they mentored startups in developing innovative solutions to address environmental issues.

Prarthana has actively contributed to various organizations and initiatives related to climate change and sustainability. Prarthana has served as a Network Steering Committee Member at CEPHA network, providing technical support and advisory inputs to program development and implementation. Prarthana has also worked as a Sector Expert in Air Quality at the Climate Smart Cities Framework, where they provided technical support and aided in the development of air quality indicators.

Prior to their current roles, Prarthana worked as the India Director at Clean Air Asia, leading the development and implementation of national strategies and programs for clean air. Prarthana has also held positions at the Centre for Environment Education, including Head of Government Liaison and Fundraising and Programme Lead for Culture and Environment. In these roles, they spearheaded national projects, coordinated government campaigns, and conducted research and development on sustainable development and cultural traditions.

Prarthana began their career as a Coordinator and Lead at the National Institute of Design, where they worked on international and industry programs. Prarthana also served as the Coordinator for the Post Graduate Programme in Development Management at St Xaviers Social Service Society.

Prarthana Borah completed their high school education at Loreto Convent Shillong. Afterward, they attended North-Eastern Hill University from 1992 to 1994, earning an M.A degree in Economics. In addition to their formal education, Prarthana also obtained certifications in Commonwealth International Training on Environment Education from Centre for Environment Education and in Ecoarts from Wexner Center for the Arts.
