Roy Denoon

Vice President at CPP Wind

Roy Denoon is currently the VP of Wind Loads & Effects at CPP Wind. Roy has over 25 years of experience in the field of wind engineering.

Denoon started their career at the University of Sydney where they were a Research Fellow from 1995-2000. During their time at the University, Denoon conducted wind tunnel testing and analyses for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Roy also provided wind engineering advice to the Olympic Coordination Authority and the Sydney Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG).

In 2000, Denoon left the University of Sydney to join Ove Arup & Partners HK Ltd as an Associate. Roy worked at Arup for four years, during which time they provided wind engineering consulting for Arup projects across the Asia Pacific region. This included initial consulting on wind loads and wind effects, specification and commissioning of wind tunnel tests, review and interpretation of wind tunnel test results. Some of the notable projects Denoon worked on during their time at Arup include the 2IFC and International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong, CCTV Headquarters in Beijing, and the Beijing National Stadium (the main stadium for the 2008 Olympics).

In 2004, Denoon left Arup to join CPP Wind, where they have been working ever since.

Roy Denoon received their Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Queensland, their M.E.(Res.) in Civil Engineering from University of Sydney, and their B.Eng.(Hons) in Civil Engineering from The University of Edinburgh.
