Sr. Director Store Technology at Cracker Barrel

Russ McGill has extensive work experience in the technology and operations field. Russ started their career at Cracker Barrel OCS in 1995, where they held various roles including Associate Store Manager, Store Support Analyst, and Sr. Store Systems Analyst. In these roles, Russ was responsible for managing staff, troubleshooting and resolving computer-related issues, and developing and implementing software and hardware systems.

In 2012, Russ joined Apple Retail as a Lead Genius, where they led a team of 30+ individuals providing customer service, support, and education on Apple products. Russ collaborated with store leadership to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and organized operational support for timely customer reservations.

Russ returned to Cracker Barrel in 2013, taking on the role of Director Operations Technology. Russ led project managers in implementing IT solutions to improve operational processes, employee productivity, and customer experience. Russ also partnered with IT leadership to align operational and IT strategic plans.

In 2022, Russ became the Director Store Technology at Cracker Barrel, where they led a department of product owners and system administrators to enhance third-party solutions and provide tier III support. Russ also led the creation and maintenance of solution documentation and roadmapping.

Currently, Russ holds the position of Sr. Director Store Technology at Cracker Barrel, where they lead a department responsible for enabling, supporting, and enhancing third-party solutions for both Cracker Barrel and Maple Street Biscuit Company. Russ also presents operational and IT projects to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic plans.

Russ McGill attended Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Music Education.
