Abhijit Patra

Abhijit Patra has over 30 years of work experience in the technology industry. Abhijit is currently working as the SVP of Products at Cradlepoint since 2020. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Engineering at Instart from 2019 to 2020, where they led a global team in developing and operating cloud-delivered application security at scale.

Before joining Instart, Abhijit worked at Oracle as the Sr. Director of Software Development from 2018 to 2019. Abhijit also gained experience at Google, where they worked on Google Cloud Networking from 2017 to 2018.

Abhijit made significant contributions at Cisco, where they held multiple roles from 1997 to 2016. As the Sr. Director of Engineering, they led the development of the Intercloud Fabric (ICF), a hybrid cloud product. Abhijit also served as the Director of Engineering for the Virtual Security Gateway (VSG), a virtual firewall appliance for virtual and cloud environments. Abhijit played a crucial role in establishing distributed virtual services architecture at Cisco.

Additionally, Abhijit has co-founded Rohati Systems, a security startup that was acquired by Cisco in 2009. Abhijit served as the Co-Founder and VP of Engineering, leading a global engineering team in delivering context-aware access control solutions.

Abhijit started their career at Wipro Infotech as a Software Specialist from 1991 to 1996.Overall, Abhijit Patra has a diverse background in software development, engineering, and product management, with a focus on cloud solutions, networking, and security.

Abhijit Patra has a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Abhijit also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Jadavpur University.
