Alex Ryan Gpen

Alex Ryan has a strong background in cybersecurity, with roles ranging from threat intelligence analyst to director-level positions. They started their most recent role as a Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst at Cradlepoint in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Arete as the Director of Project and Process Management and also served as a Senior Incident Response Instructor. They have also held positions at Fidelis Cybersecurity as the Director of Customer Success and Director of Technical Account Management. Before that, Alex worked at NuScale Power as a Senior Information Security Analyst, where they focused on policy development and security operations. Alex Ryan obtained a BA in Philosophy from the University of Houston in 1997. In the same year, Alex also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from the University of Houston. Additionally, Alex holds multiple certifications, including the GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC Certifications in 2019, the GSFP certification from the SANS Institute in 2019, and the Arete Incident Response Lead Certification from Arete Incident Response in 2021. Other certifications obtained by Alex include CCENT from Cisco in 2017, GSEC from GIAC in 2006, INFOSEC Assessment Methodology (IAM) from the National Security Agency in 2006, S.T.A.R Fundamentals of Information Security Policy from GIAC in 2006, and CISSP from (ISC)² in 2000.
