Scott Sumi

Scott Sumi has extensive experience in the technology industry, spanning over two decades. Scott is currently working at Craft Education System as the CTO, where they are involved in re-seeding the American Dream through an equitable approach to socioeconomic mobility. Prior to this role, Scott served as the VP of Engineering at Craft Education System.

Before joining Craft Education System, Scott worked at Rhove as a Co-founder and CTO. Rhove is a technology company that enables tenants to earn rewards and invest in real estate through their monthly rent payment.

Scott also has experience working at IBM iX as a Solution Architect, where they helped companies find technology solutions within their business domain. Scott utilized their expertise in software development to consult with clients and create business value through AI, data integration, and custom application development.

Prior to IBM iX, Scott served as a Development Lead at Resource/Ammirati, where they led technology teams in planning, developing, and launching web applications, RESTful services, and mobile applications. Scott also worked as a Senior Java Developer at Alliance Data, where they were responsible for developing a robust Java web application and providing feature estimation and mentoring.

Scott began their career at GigaTeam, where they co-founded the company and served as the Lead Developer. Scott designed and implemented iOS user interfaces, business processing, and databases for sports statistical tracking and management apps.

Before GigaTeam, Scott worked at PS Technology as a Lead Application Engineer, where they led a team in building a Java Enterprise Edition implementation of the company's flagship product. Scott was also involved in the development, debugging, enhancement, and maintenance of CICS programs in the company's Crew Scheduling and Timekeeping product.
