Dr. Christian Kurze

Dr. Christian Kurze has an extensive work experience that spans various roles and positions in different companies. In 2023, they joined Crate.io as the VP of Product. Prior to this, they worked at MongoDB from 2017 to 2023, where they held several roles including Manager of Solutions Architecture for Central & Eastern Europe, Solutions Architect Team Lead, and Principal Solutions Architect. Before joining MongoDB, they served as the Principal Sales Engineer for DACH at Denodo Technologies GmbH from 2015 to 2017. Dr. Christian also worked as a Product Manager at InfoDyn AG from 2013 to 2015, and as a Consultant at TIE ascention GmbH from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, they held the position of Head of Business Intelligence at SQL Projekt AG in 2012. Prior to that, Dr. Kurze worked as a Freelancer in software and web solutions from 2003 to 2012. In 2009, they co-founded Cimacon GmbH and served as a Co-Founder until 2012. Their earlier work experience includes a research associate position at Chemnitz University of Technology from 2008 to 2012, where they were involved in various research projects and guest lectured at other institutions.

Dr. Christian Kurze began their education at Technische Universität Chemnitz, where they obtained a Diploma (Master) degree in Management Information Systems from 2003 to 2008. Dr. Christian then pursued further education at the same institution and earned a PhD in Information Systems from 2008 to 2011. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (C100DBA) certification and the MongoDB Certified Developer Associate (C100DEV) certification from MongoDB in August 2019. Additionally, they completed a course on Computational Investing, Part I from Coursera in May 2017.
