Associate Student Investment Partner at Creator Fund

Robert Elkington has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Robert is currently working as a Student Investment Analyst at Creator Fund, where they source and assesses startups in the Leeds and wider Yorkshire area for early-stage investment. Robert also provides expertise in engineering, manufacturing, medical devices, life science, and MedTech/HealthTech technologies.

Prior to that, Robert worked as a Web Manager at BioTrib ETN, where they were responsible for digital strategy, brand development, website design, and social media management. Robert also trained and collaborated with Early Stage Researchers to disseminate research and network activities.

Robert also held a similar position as a Web Manager at OncoEng. Additionally, they gained research and development experience as an Intern in Tribology at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, where they investigated friction fade-out phenomena in aerospace applications and conducted a literature review based on data collected by MHI tribology experts.

Furthermore, Robert worked as a Visiting Researcher at the national Centre for Advanced Tribology at Southampton (nCATS), where they conducted research on liquid crystal behavior using polarized light microscopy techniques. Robert also worked as a Research Intern at the University of Southampton.

Robert Elkington pursued their education chronologically starting from Queen Mary's Grammar School, where they obtained their A Levels in the year 2016. Following this, they attended the University of Southampton from 2016 to 2019, obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, they are a PhD Research Student at the University of Leeds, specializing in Engineering and Biotribology. Their expected completion year for the PhD program is 2024.
