Didier Gaffinel is the current Deputy General Manager & Head of Global Coverage & Investment Banking of Crédit Agricole CIB at Credit Agricole Group. Didier has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry.

Gaffinel started their career in 1987 as a VIE at Crédit Commercial de France (HSBC). Didier then moved to Elf Atochem (Elf Aquitaine) in 1989, where they worked as Attaché de Direction - Direction Financière until 1992. In May 1992, Gaffinel joined Banque de Gestion Privée - Groupe Crédit Agricole as Vice President - Fusions Acquisitions, a position they held until September 1998.

After a brief stint working for the French Ministry of Finance, Gaffinel rejoined Crédit Agricole Group in 2000. Didier has since held various positions within the company, including Head of Corporate and Investment Banking France from 2006 to 2009, and Head of Debt Capital Markets from 2009 to 2011. In their current role, Gaffinel is responsible for the development and implementation of the group’s global coverage and investment banking strategy.

After completing a Master's degree in Finance and Management from Audencia, Didier Gaffinel pursued further studies in accounting, becoming a certified accountant (Expertise Comptable) from the D.E.C.F.

Didier Gaffinel reports to François Marion, Deputy CEO, Crédit Agricole CIB. They are on a team with Michel Roy - Senior Regional Officer Asia-Pacific of Crédit Agricole CIB, Régis Monfront - Chairman Investment Banking of Crédit Agricole CIB in Dubai, and Marc-André Poirier - Senior Regional Officer Americas of Crédit Agricole CIB.
