Credit Karma’s Legal Operations Team is looking for a Legal Operations Manager I, to support the day-to-day operations of the Legal Team and increase operational efficiency through the use of data and data-driven tools. As Legal Operations Manager I, you will be able to identify areas to improve processes that enable the Legal Team to run smoothly and efficiently, and  collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to address the needs of both the Legal Team and the Business. 

In addition, as Legal Operations Manager I, you will be responsible for the individual execution of projects and initiatives, with guidance from senior team members, as well as articulating solutions in an effective and concise manner.  

What You’ll Do

  • Project & Process Management:
    • Assist with and manage a variety of Legal team needs and initiatives including defining project scope, monitoring timelines and deliverables 
    • Develops and maintains databases for the Legal team, including software and process inventories and internal knowledge sharing materials
  • Legal Technology: 
    • Day-to-day administration of Jira ticketing platform, including identifying improvements to workflow, intake and reporting
    • Assist with data reporting and identification of trends and efficiency optimization
    • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, and provide recommendations to stakeholders
    • Identify and recommend technology improvements to optimize processes where feasible and cost-effective
  • Legal Training Program:
    • Administer and enhance program for internal training sponsored by the Legal Team including, day-to-day tasks in our internal training platform, including training timeframes/calendar, trainee completion notifications, and reporting
  • Budgeting & Financial Management Support:
    • With guidance from senior team members, provide day-to-day support on legal budget and spend management, including monthly accrual reporting
    • Coordinate cross-functionally with business partners from FP&A and Accounting Teams
  • Outside Counsel & Vendor Management: 
    • Manage administrative aspects of outside counsel and vendor relationships including onboarding, invoicing and accrual submission. 
    • Manage day-to-day administration of Legal Tracker, including matter management, invoice approval and timekeeper rate negotiation.
    • Manage Legal team initiatives with respect to outside counsel, including DEI goals.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of Legal Operations experience in a large organization or relevant operational management role in positions of progressive responsibility
  • Experience with technology solutions such as JIRA/Confluence and Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker.
  • Experience managing projects towards agreed-upon deadlines
  • Experience working and maintaining communications with internal and cross-functional teams
