Daniel T. Rooney

Daniel T. Rooney, Ph.D., is an accomplished research scientist with extensive experience in materials characterization and reliability engineering. Currently serving as Research Scientist III at Cree LED since August 2008, Rooney manages a materials characterization lab and operates advanced analytical instrumentation for high bandgap semiconductor materials. Prior to this, Rooney held significant roles at Flextronics International as Manager of Product Assurance and Reliability Engineering, at Ericsson as a Consulting Engineer, and at Motorola as a Staff Engineer. With a Doctorate in Physical Chemistry from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's in Chemistry from Allegheny College, Rooney has a strong foundation in analytical techniques and has consistently leveraged this expertise to support product development and manufacturing excellence.
