Maarten Cleppe

Maarten Cleppe currently serves as Head of Legal at Crelan since March 2022 and has been involved with Ghent University as a lecturer in financial law since October 2014. Previously, Maarten held leadership positions in legal counsel at AXA Bank Belgium and ING Bank, focusing on legal risk management for financial markets, particularly in derivatives and related contracts. Maarten's legal career also includes roles at ING Belgium and Dexia Bank Belgium, specializing in treasury and financial markets. Academically, Maarten holds an LL.M. in Banking Law from UCL and a Licentiaat in Law from Ghent University, complemented by business education from Brugge Business School.
