Angelo Cross

Director of Enrichment, Mildred Osborne Charter School at Crescent City Schools

Angelo Cross joined the Harriet Tubman Community in 2014 where he oversaw the school’s family engagement initiatives, community partnerships, alumni relations, and the school’s high school choice process. He is now the Director of Enrichment Offerings and Extracurricular Activities. Angelo has been in education for almost 15 years, beginning his career as an AmeriCorps Project YES! Member in his hometown of Chicago, IL. During his AmeriCorps experience, he worked in a Chicago Public School where he co-taught 5th and 6th grade Social Studies. Also during that time, Angelo worked closely with his team of corps members to develop school-wide support mechanisms for students and families rooted in community service projects. After teaching in Chicago, Angelo joined a National Teaching Fellowship with Citizen Schools, a non-profit organization that partners with middle schools to extend the learning day for students through hands-on experiential learning. During his fellowship, Angelo also served as a family and community engagement specialist and volunteer coordinator, then went on to serve as both a Campus Director and Dean of Student Engagement for Citizen Schools programs in Texas and North Carolina. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Union College in Schenectady, NY and a M.Ed in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
