Erik Klein

Founding Engineer at Crews by Core

Erik Klein has a wealth of experience in software engineering and management. Starting in 2006, they were a Senior Software Engineer and Engineering Manager at YouTube, where they worked on projects such as sharding of databases, mobile MMS uploads, edit video page, video ad platform, and ad network integration. In 2009, they became the CTO of SofaLabs, a Facebook-based dating app, and in 2010, they co-founded Endorse.com, a consumer internet company with iOS and Android apps. In 2013, they were acquired by Dropbox, where they took over the Core Mobile team responsible for iOS and Android apps, and scaled the team from 3 engineers to 16 engineers. From 2015 to 2017, they were an Engineering Lead at Poynt, where they built an Android OS testing platform and integrated Poynt with US Bank Elavon payment processing system. From 2017 to 2019, they were an Engineering Manager at Google, managing a team building software to automate Google's Supply Chain. In 2019, they joined The We Company as a Senior Software Engineer - Cities by We, and in 2020, they became a Founding Engineer at byCore.

Erik Klein attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1993 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Computer Science.
