Reetu joined Creyon Bio to understand and further work toward developing oligonucleotide-based medicines to treat rare diseases. She obtained a Master in Biotechnology from Punjab University, Chandigarh and her PhD from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. During her PhD she studied the impact of epigenetics on the differential expression of the Cripto1 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Later she joined Cedars Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, USA as a Post-Doctoral Scientist where her research focus was to explore the role of ubiquitin dependent mitophagy (PINK-PARKIN pathway) in alcoholic pancreatitis working to improve the outcomes of the pancreatitis by using a mitophagy-inducing drug and also to further understand the impact epigenetics on alteration of mitochondrial dynamics in alcoholic pancreatitis.
