Principal & Head, Natural Capital at Crossboundary

Kate Wharton leads CrossBoundary’s Natural Capital investment advisory and was previously based in Erbil, Iraq as Head of Iraq Advisory. Kate holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Affairs and a minor in Spanish from Georgia Tech. Prior to CrossBoundary, Kate was based in Turkey as the Chief Operating Officer of Hala Systems, a humanitarian technology company. She also co-led Refugee Open Ware, supporting entrepreneurs in conflict-affected regions. Kate began her career in Deloitte’s public sector consulting practice in Washington, DC, supporting clients on energy, water, and sanitation projects in emerging markets. She co-founded Deloitte’s flagship social innovation fellowship, leading projects in Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guatemala, and Uganda.
