Martin Broom

Martin Broom has over 20 years of work experience in the financial industry. Martin started their career at Standard Chartered Bank in 1997, where they worked in FX/MMK investigations, handling tasks such as non-receipts, non-payments, risk payments, and swift transactions. During their time at Standard Chartered, they also gained exposure to New York markets and practices. In 1999, they joined Deutsche Bank as an FX subject matter expert and vendor manager, responsible for investigating and reconciling FX, money market, and options breaks. Martin worked closely with different teams and external parties to manage risk and exposure. After eight years at Deutsche Bank, Martin moved to UBS in 2007 as a claims and cash management analyst/trainer. In this role, they processed and settled payable and receivable claims for FX, MMK, and options, and trained staff in the onshore and offshore teams. In 2008, Martin returned to Deutsche Bank as an FX settlements analyst, where they confirmed and settled trades, resolved aged nostro breaks, and managed compensation cases for corporate platinum clients. In 2009, they joined Morgan Stanley as a senior associate in the Client Service Group, specializing in investigations and compensations. Martin addressed fail resolutions, conducted root cause analyses, and liaised with various internal and external stakeholders. Finally, in 2016, Martin joined Crown Agents Bank as a Treasury Operations Manager, and later transitioned to the role of Client Due Diligence.

Martin Broom attended Colyton Grammar School for an unknown period of time. Following their time at Colyton Grammar School, they went on to Juniata College where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geography/Geology. Finally, they furthered their education at the University of Gloucestershire, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours degree in Geography and Geology.
