Santi Suryani Chen, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Santi started their career as a Fundraising Coordinator for the MyShelter project under Watoto Child Care Ministries Australia, where they successfully led a team in raising funds to build a home for ex-child soldiers. Santi then worked as a Tutor/Demonstrator at the University of New South Wales while pursuing their PhD. During their PhD, they conducted research on human B cell subsets at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where they also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. Following their PhD, they gained further research experience as a Postdoctoral Intern at Pfizer Inc, exploring the role of costimulatory molecules in human dendritic cells. Santi continued their research work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Children's Cancer Institute Australia, focusing on improving treatment for leukemia patients. In addition to their research work, they also served as a Representative of the Research Management Committee at the Children's Cancer Institute Australia. Santi then transitioned into a business development role as a Business Development Manager at Champions Oncology, Inc., where they conducted market research, identified business opportunities, and maintained strategic relationships with clients in the oncology field. Santi further advanced their career in business development as the Director of Strategic Alliances & BD at GemPharmatech, where they were responsible for defining strategic business approaches, building partnerships, managing preclinical services, and driving business growth. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Business Development at Crown Bioscience. Furthermore, Santi also has experience as a private math tutor and business owner. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.

Santi Suryani Chen, PhD, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors class I in Immunology and Microbiology from UNSW in 2004. In 2007, they pursued a PhD in Medicine, specializing in Immunology, which they completed in 2010, also from UNSW. Santi also obtained a Diploma of Innovation Management from UNSW in 2003-2004. Additionally, Santi has received various certifications from LinkedIn in topics such as avoiding new manager mistakes, business development foundations, career advice, vocal confidence projection, remote work, project management, technical writing, and high-performing employee practices in 2020.
