Helen Monk

Helen Monk has over 20 years of experience in human resources and people management. Helen has held various roles in different companies, demonstrating their expertise in managing teams, implementing HR strategies, and driving organizational change.

In their most recent role as Head of People at Crunch, Helen was responsible for transforming the HR department into a progressive and open People team. Helen successfully managed complex employment relations cases and change programs, as well as led the people aspects of the company's response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Helen also played a key role in procuring a new HRIS system and implementing a continuous performance management system.

Before joining Crunch, Helen worked as a Senior HR Manager for an accountancy and technology company, where they provided HR support to a large team and managed various HR projects. Prior to that, they served as an HR Manager for British Gas, supporting their telephony sales team and leading HR initiatives across multiple sites.

Helen has also held HR roles at Haas Group International, Certas Energy, EVH - Supporting Social Employers, B&Q, and Marks and Spencer. Their experience spans a wide range of industries, including energy, retail, and social housing.

Helen Monk earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from the University of Strathclyde, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. During the same period, they also obtained a BA (Hons) in Industrial Relations at Strathclyde Business School. Helen furthered their education by obtaining additional certifications, including becoming an Affiliate Member of The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) in June 2021, a Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in May 2019, and a Chartered Member of CIPD in November 2017.
