Karen Ung

Program Manager, Customer Experience at Crunchyroll

Karen Ung has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Karen began their career as a Customer Service Representative at State Farm, where they provided excellent service to customers. Karen then transitioned to Cal Poly Pomona as an Instructional Student Assistant, where they supported tutorial services for students.

Next, they worked as a Public Information Officer Intern at Rosemead High School, gaining experience in public relations and communication. Karen then joined Evite as a Customer Experience Specialist, where they focused on delivering outstanding customer support.

Karen's career then took their to SpaceX, where they served as a Customer Support Lead. In this role, they assisted customers with troubleshooting, account management, and order processes. Karen also played a key role in refining the support manual and facilitating daily recap meetings to address trending issues.

Currently, Karen is employed at Crunchyroll, where they have held multiple roles. Karen started as a Customer Experience Manager, where they managed vendor relationships, resolved escalated tickets, and developed internal processes and FAQs. Karen also oversaw the Back Office Team and co-led the company's Employee Resource Group. Later, they transitioned to their current role as a Program Manager, focusing on customer experience enhancements.

Throughout their career, Karen has demonstrated strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.

Karen Ung completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Communication - Public Relations from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 2013 to 2018. Karen also obtained additional certifications in "Project Management Foundations: Requirements" from LinkedIn in May 2022 and a P&C Insurance License from the California Department of Insurance in August 2015.
