Joelle Boutari, PhD

Joelle Boutari, PhD, has a diverse work experience that showcases their expertise in quantum physics and cybersecurity. Joelle currently works as a Quantum Physics Researcher at Crypto Quantique, a cybersecurity company that specializes in end-to-end IoT security using advanced cryptography and quantum physics techniques. In this role, Joelle focuses on developing unforgeable identity key derivation technology using quantum tunneling.

Prior to their current position, Joelle completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Quantum Optics, Atomic & Laser Physics at the University of Oxford. Joelle worked under the supervision of Prof Ian Walmsley and Dr Steve Kolthammer in the Ultrafast Quantum Optics Group. During their PhD, Joelle was awarded the Marie Curie ITN scholarship within the PICQUE project.

Joelle Boutari pursued their higher education at Sapienza Università di Roma. From 2008 to 2010, they completed their Laurea Triennale in Physics. Continuing their academic journey, they then went on to obtain their Laurea Magistrale in Physics from the same institution, completing this degree from 2011 to 2013.
