Edgar O'Connell

Edgar O'Connell is a skilled professional in organizing and communication within the labor movement and conflict resolution fields. Currently serving as a Statewide Organizer at CSEA Local 1000 since July 2023, Edgar is responsible for comprehensive organizing campaigns aimed at increasing union membership. Edgar's previous experience includes serving as an Editor at the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution, where responsibilities included managing e-newsletter content and the institute's blog. Edgar also held positions as an Apprentice Organizer with SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania and as a DEROC Intern with LIUNA, focusing on advocacy and research in labor issues. Additionally, Edgar contributed as a Web Editor for the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability, creating resources for major organizations. Edgar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University ILR School, complemented by prior education at Case Western Reserve University and a high school diploma in Music from Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12.
