Marc Gevers

Marc Gevers has a diverse and extensive work experience in the IT industry. Marc currently serves as the Director of IT and IT Director: Communities & Safety at Common Sail Investment Group. In these roles, they oversee all areas of information technology, including budgeting, project management, cyber security, IT policy, compliance, and new technology research and development. Prior to this, they were the IT Operations Manager at the same company, responsible for managing IT finances and evaluating products and services.

Before joining Common Sail Investment Group, Marc worked at MSU Federal Credit Union as the IT Network & Infrastructure Manager. In this role, they managed the team responsible for data center operations, virtual environment, database systems, servers, active directory, routing/switching, telecommunications, and collaboration systems.

Marc also has experience in the hospitality industry, having worked at Celebrity Cruises as the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager, as well as the Network Infrastructure Manager and Data Systems Manager. In these roles, Marc managed IT operations onboard cruise ships, including network infrastructure, entertainment systems, telephone exchanges, Wi-Fi, and satellite communications.

Additionally, Marc has worked as a Helpdesk Support technician at Derivco, providing technical support to customers, and as an Accounts Manager at Drive Control Corporation, handling hardware and software sales.

Marc Gevers attended Durban University of Technology from 2000 to 2001, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Westville Boy's High School from 1994 to 1998. Marc also holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, which they obtained from the Project Management Institute in March 2020.
