Kate MacPhail

Special Assistant & Executive Officer to the President & CEO, Office of the President at CSIS

Kate MacPhail currently serves as special assistant and executive officer to the president and CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), John Hamre. In this role, she oversees operations within the Office of the President and supports special events. She also acts as a development liaison within the CSIS corporate memberships portfolio and contributes to the CSIS national outreach strategy. Prior to this role, Kate worked on the congressional and government affairs team. Working to promote engagement with key policymakers, Kate hosted briefings, supported congressional testimony of CSIS experts, and strengthened connections between CSIS programs and the federal government. Kate started at CSIS as an intern in the Office of External Relations and holds a BA in political science and communications from the University of Georgia.
