Lead Embedded Software Engineer at CUBIC Technologies

Richard Zhao has worked in the software engineering industry since 2004. Richard began their career as a Software Engineer at JustSystems Corporation in 2004. In 2007, they moved to Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific as an Embedded Software Engineer, where they increased machine software continuous running period from 6 hours to 120 hours and solved machine crash and hang-up issue, resulting in a cost savings of S$240K per year. In 2011, they became a Consultant at MSI Global Pte Ltd and led a team to deliver SMRT automatic gate application on time, as well as architecting the automatic gate Common Architecture and assisting in project tracking and scheduling. In 2014, they joined Rockwell Automation as a Senior Embedded Engineer, where they were a key contributor to the firmware of SIL3 L3yS safety controller and lead the Singapore Customer Response Team to release firmware and mentor members to fix bugs. Since 2016, they have been a Lead Embedded Software Engineer at Cubic Technologies.

Richard Zhao obtained a Master's degree in Mechatronics from Dalian University of Technology from 2001 to 2004.
