Ryan Cartnal

Ryan Cartnal is the current Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness & Research at Cuesta College. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Research and Assessment at Cuesta College from September 2008 to October 2017. Ryan has a long history of working in research and assessment, and their experience has been invaluable to Cuesta College. Ryan is dedicated to their work and is always looking for ways to improve the college and the student experience.

Ryan Cartnal has a PhD in Educational Statistics and Psychometrics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master of Arts in Cross Cultural Education from California State University-Bakersfield, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Occidental College.

They are on a team with Kristina Vastine - Associate Director of Dual Enrollment, Madeline Medeiros - Dean of Instruction for Arts, Humanities , & Social Sciences, and Araceli Espinoza-Wade - Associate Dean of Student Equity & Special Programs. Ryan Cartnal reports to Jason Curtis, Assistant Superintendent & VP of Instruction.
