Christine Tusiime

Director of Physiotherapy at CURE International

As Director of Physiotherapy, Christine helps improve rehabilitation services across CURE’s network of hospitals. This includes mentoring and building a team of physiotherapists, developing operating protocols and guidelines, and collaborating with physiotherapy providers locally, regionally, and internationally.

Christine is passionate about improving the quality of life for children with disabilities. She was inspired to become a physiotherapist through her younger sister, Maureen, who had cerebral palsy—a condition that cut her life short. In addition, Christine credits her mother, Winifred, as being the first to teach her how to love and care for Maureen—and by extension other children in need.

Christine received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Physiotherapy from the University of Western Cape, in South Africa. Prior to serving with CURE, she worked at Katalemwa Cheshire Home for Rehabilitation and CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital (both in Uganda).
