Barbara Philippe

Barbara Philippe has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Barbara is currently serving as the SVP Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operation, Managing Director at CureVac, where they lead the mRNA manufacturing and supply chain functions. Prior to that, Barbara held the position of VP Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Miltenyi Biotec, where they were responsible for various activities including CGT organization, CMC activities, and CAR-T cell commercial manufacturing strategy.

Before joining Miltenyi Biotec, Barbara worked at GSK for a significant period. Barbara held multiple roles at GSK, including Senior Director for Belgium Sites Management, Head of Performance and Project Management, and Senior Director for Execution of Integration of GSK and Novartis Industrial Operation. In their various roles at GSK, Barbara successfully executed integration projects, established governance frameworks, and led the manufacturing and supply chain organizations.

Barbara's earlier experience includes working as a QC Development Manager at CODA / CERVA and as a Presales Manager at Sopachem BV.

Throughout their career, Barbara has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and a strong focus on optimizing supply chain performance and implementing strategic business cases.

Barbara Philippe holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Université catholique de Louvain, which they completed in 1997. In 2008 and 2009, they pursued a Master's in Management (equivalent to an MBA) at EPM Academy. Prior to that, in 1991, they obtained a degree in Medical Biology from the Université catholique de Louvain. In 2013, they completed a Business Coach training program, specifically the GSK House Training in London. Additionally, they have received training in Project Management through PM-PRO by PMI in 2010, and in late stage development risk management through the QbD/Integration Pharma Course in London in 2012.
