Clay is a gifted team leader who has demonstrated strategic and operational success in unlocking talent and managing team members in a variety of complex environments. Clay’s unique leadership background, interpersonal skills, and driven mindset enhance the ability of the CVO Team to integrate and deliver high-quality solutions for both the client and the customer. Clay’s responsibilities at CVO include Site Operations (construction and maintenance), Customer Service Center, Network Operations Center, Information Technology, Tolling Operations, Supply Chain, and Strategic Account Implementation.

Prior to joining this intersection of transportation and technology, Clay served in a variety of high-stress, undefined and challenging environments. He has held Command and operational roles including flying off aircraft carriers as a fighter pilot, management of a technology portfolio, Senior Fellow at a Washington DC think tank, and the Military Aide to both President Bush and President Obama. Prior to joining the CVO Team, Clay was VP of Operational Excellence at Nine Energy Services and led a senior-level team focused on global standardization of processes and compliance activities at Halliburton.

Clay graduated from the US Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering and has an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School.
