Ashwin Rao has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ashwin started their career at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President and worked there for 10 years. Ashwin then joined Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director, where they were responsible for Quant Trading Strategies, Pricing, Risk Management, and Derivatives Modeling. After moving to Mumbai, they founded and grew the Mumbai Modeling/Quant team and co-headed the organization of technologists. This experience led him to venture into tech entrepreneurship. Ashwin founded ZLemma, a company that built software products for recruitment, and later joined Hired, Inc. as an Advisor after ZLemma was acquired. Ashwin then joined Target as the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence before founding their own startup, CX Score, where they currently serve as the Founder and CTO. At Stanford University, they are an Adjunct Professor of Applied Mathematics, focusing on A.I. research.
Ashwin Rao completed their high school education in Computer Science at Atomic Energy Central School in Bombay from 1976 to 1989. Following this, they attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a B.Tech degree in Computer Science. Afterward, from 1993 to 1998, they pursued their Ph.D. in Theoretical Computer Science with a specialization in Algorithmic Algebra at the University of Southern California.
