Brett Scott has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Brett is currently a member of the Board of Advisors at Ember Intel since 2024. Prior to this, they worked at TD SYNNEX as a Director, where they were responsible for overseeing and managing the TD Synnex Cyber Range. Brett was also an advocate for cybersecurity and a public speaker, incorporating and collaborating with new vendors in the cyber range.
Before joining TD SYNNEX, Brett Scott co-founded the Arizona Cyber Warfare Range in 2012. In this role, they served as an enterprise architect, chief advocate, regular representative, public speaker, cyber warfare trainer, volunteer coordinator, software developer, and liaison. The Arizona Cyber Warfare Range is a center of innovation and technology that allows for practical exploration of technologies, methodologies, and system designs.
Prior to that, Brett Scott worked at LiveSquare Security as the CTO and primary IP contributor. Brett contributed to the development and improvement of several products, including the Streaming Media Defender and the Active Global Defense Network. The Streaming Media Defender secures streaming media from piracy threats.
Earlier in their career, Brett Scott held various positions at Tech Data and Avnet Technology Solutions. At Tech Data, they served as the Director of Security Training and Enablement in the Global Security Solutions Practice. Brett launched and maintained the Tech Data Cyber Range in Tempe, AZ and worked as the primary visionary and evangelist to drive engagement with customers, vendors, and the community. Brett also worked as the Director of Solutions Development in the Security Solutions Practice, where they were responsible for reviewing, recruiting, and onboarding new vendors/suppliers and overseeing the security technical team.
At Avnet Technology Solutions, Brett Scott served as the Director of Solutions Development in the Security SBU (Specialized Business Unit). Brett led a new Specialized Business Unit focused on cybersecurity solutions, recruiting and developing new security partners, and coaching existing Avnet partners.
Overall, Brett Scott has extensive experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in areas such as cyber ranges, enterprise architecture, public speaking, and intellectual property contribution.
Brett Scott has a comprehensive education history. From 2006 to 2010, they attended Gilbert Leadership, where they obtained a graduate degree in Community government, services, charities, infrastructure, planning. In 2004, they briefly studied at Arizona State University, focusing on Technolpolis LaunchPad. That same year, they completed a Business program at FastTrac New Venture. In 2001 and 2002, Brett attended The Leadership Institute, specializing in Campaign management, press relations, message crafting, and campaign strategy. Additionally, they hold a Secret Clearance from the United States Department of Homeland Security, which was obtained in August 2013, and an Advocate certification from the Arizona Cyber Warfare Range.
