Cathy Applefeld Olson

Cathy Applefeld Olson is an accomplished journalist and media executive with extensive experience in the entertainment industry. Currently serving as the founder and executive director of Hollywood & Mind since May 2022, Cathy has a long-standing freelance relationship with notable publications including Forbes, Cynopsis, Billboard, and Cablefax since 1998. As a contributor to Billboard, Cathy reports on music industry news and major events such as the Golden Globes and iHeartRadio Awards. In addition, Cathy has held the position of editor at Cynopsis, overseeing coverage of the television and digital landscape, and managing editor at Cablefax: The Magazine, recognizing leaders in the TV and digital sectors. Previous roles include co-founder of Enterprise Sound Strategy and editor of Cynopsis Kids. Cathy holds a degree in Journalism from Northwestern University, earned between 1985 and 1989.
