Sharmi Saha PhD has extensive work experience in the field of pharmaceutical and biotechnology research.

Sharmi currently works at CytomX Therapeutics, where they started in October 2018 as a Scientist II in Toxicology and was later promoted to Senior Scientist I. Sharmi is involved in the study of toxicology and leads projects related to drug safety and efficacy.

Prior to CytomX Therapeutics, Sharmi worked at Symic Bio from May 2014 to September 2018. Sharmi held various roles including Senior Manager in Nonclinical Development & Safety and Senior Scientist in Nonclinical Development & Safety. Sharmi was responsible for managing bioanalytical method development, compiling and maintaining company data room for due diligence, developing biological assays to understand drug mechanisms of action, and conducting in vitro and ex vivo assays. Sharmi also contributed to the development of clinical formulations and conducted stability studies.

Before joining Symic Bio, Sharmi worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, San Francisco from July 2012 to May 2014. Their research focused on engineering an in vitro dentin-pulp interface construct using microfabrication technology and tissue engineering approaches.

Sharmi's educational background includes a PhD in Microenvironmental Modulation of Breast Cancer Stem Cells through Biological Matrix from the University of South Carolina, where they conducted research on fabricating 3D polymeric electrospun scaffolds for tissue engineering. Sharmi also worked as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and as an Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Sharmi Saha PhD has a diverse educational background in the field of Chemistry. Sharmi obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Jadavpur University. Sharmi further pursued their studies and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Sharmi then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry, Material Science, and tissue engineering from the University of South Carolina. Finally, they conducted their Post Doctorate studies at the University of California, San Francisco.
