Andrea Hoy

Andrea Hoy has a diverse range of work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Andrea is currently a member of the CXO Council and Board of Advisors at Cyvatar since November 2019. Before that, Andrea was the Chief Executive Disruptor and Co-founder of the Innovation Shipyard Alliance (ISA) since April 2018. At ISA, they helped C-level executives find new cyber technology to address disruptors and assisted new cyber technology companies in refining their elevator pitches for C-level executives.

Andrea has also worked as the President and Virtual CISO at A.Hoy & Associates since September 2002, providing virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) services. Andrea was an instructor at CSUF from an unspecified date in 2012 until June 2021. Additionally, Andrea served as the President of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) from June 2015 to June 2017, representing and leading the not-for-profit organization of information security professionals.

Prior to that, they were the Vice President of the International Board at ISSA International from September 2011 to June 2015. Andrea founded and served as the President/Founder and Virtual CSO of SenSe1 Security, Inc. from January 2010 to December 2013. Before entering the cybersecurity field, Andrea was the President and CISO at Tysak Technologies, Inc. from January 2002 to January 2010.

Andrea Hoy has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. Their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance and HR with a minor in Anatomy & Physiology was obtained from California State University, Long Beach. Andrea also has another MBA degree with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Pepperdine University.

In terms of certifications, Andrea obtained the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA in March 2004. Additionally, they obtained the CISSP certification from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) in October 2001.
