Alan Baratz

CEO at D-Wave Systems

Alan Baratz is the current CEO of D-Wave Systems. Prior to their current position, they were the EVP of Marketing and New Business Strategy at Symphony.com from January 2017 to August 2017. Alan was responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the storage management startup before it was acquired by Cisco. Avaya was their next stop from January 2008 to December 2012 where they served as the SVP and President of Global Communications Solutions. There, they were responsible for product strategy, R&D, pricing, positioning, and market success of all unified communications, contact center, and SMB products. Alan then went to Cisco Systems from June 2007 to February 2008 as the SVP of Network Software and Systems where they were responsible for Cisco software strategy, product roadmap, and product delivery. In January 2005, they became the CEO and President of NeoPath Networks where they were responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the storage management startup before it was acquired by Cisco in December 2007. From August 2013 to December 2016, Alan took on the role of CEO and President of Alert GPS. Most recently, they have been working as an angel investor and technology business consultant since May 2012.

Alan Baratz received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
